  • The bone in the place of the missing tooth will disappear
  • Neighboring teeth will begin to move into the free space (either lean in towards the gap or gaps may appear between other teeth)
  • Your bite will become crooked and the midline of teeth will become asymmetrical
  • Teeth of the opposing arch will move up from the bone, which may lead to uncovering of roots, oversensitivity, and even tooth loss
  • Make an appointment with our implantologist to bridge the gap as soon as possible, in order to avoid problems and enjoy the comfort of a full set of teeth.

Implants – the best method to restore missing teeth

implant dentystycznyIMPLANTS are an addition permanently embedded in the bone, without the need of treating neighboring teeth. The IMPLANT is a titanium screw which acts as the root of the tooth. A implantologist screws the bolt (titanium root) into the place of the missing tooth and a prosthetic crown is then attached on top.

Indications for treatment with implants:
  • complements a full set of teeth
  • fills in the gaps with bridges fixed on implants
  • to hold full dentures securely
Contraindications for treatment with implants:
  • lack of properoral hygiene andmotivation to changebad habits
  • inadequate bone conditions
  • receiving antidepressants, immunosuppressants, anticoagulants
  • and other measures that would hinder incorporation of the implant
  • general poor health
  • hormonal disorders
  • contraindications are ever decreasing because of the use of new techniques and technologies enabling, for example, the reconstruction of damaged bone or raising the bottom of the maxillary sinus.
Treatment with implants is divided into several stages:
  1. surgical procedure of inserting an implant into the bone.
  2. healing phase lasting 3 to 6 months (in that time the implant and bone become firmly fixed together).
  3. prosthetic restoration in which crowns or bridges are screwed into the implant or screwed directly to the connectors. In the case of prosthetics fixed on implants, the element attaching denture to implants can be ball studs, beams, or magnetic elements.
  4. control stage (after the completion of prosthetic treatment, the patient should attend control visits to assess the state of hygiene of the implant and other additions – compliance with this enables detection of any possible problems and time to address them.)
